Travels and events...

Updated: Feb 23, 2018

A busy autumn and winter of work and events.

It’s been a busy autumn and winter - not only because of computer work, but also because I’ve been travelling a lot. I was invited to speak at the huge BEDA 10 year anniversary conference in Madrid, Spain in October. I was lucky enough to have a free Sunday there and, thanks to George, explored the city in full on foot and visited two wonderful art museums.

In November I was presenting in Torino, Brescia and Bologna in Italy. Such wonderful food in Bologna Market Hall… and I've been working with Sarah Ellis in Italy, who is great.

In December, I was a presenter in Warsaw, Poland. I now know that EVERYONE in Poland seems to wear a hat and thick scarf outside in winter. I had taken a scarf but not a hat. Thanks to Julita, I soon found one! I really enjoyed my trip to Poland despite the fact that I had problems getting home again due to too much snow in airports.

Now I’m shortly off to southern Italy. I’ll be speaking in Rome, Salerno and Bari. In March, I’ll be spending a few days in Russia, visiting teachers and presenting at conferences in St Petersburg and Moscow. I hope it won’t be as cold there as it has been here in England. As I'm also due to be speaking in Poland again this spring, I’ll be taking my hat with me.

So, ‘Hi’ to any of the educators I’ve already met on my journeys and I’m looking forward to those I have yet to meet. Right! I’m off to pack.
